Old Town Alexandria, VA 2021

[June, 18-20, 2021 Alexandria, VA US]

This is my first travel location for fun since last year’s Key West Food and Wine Fest in January of 2020 (see prior post) due to the worldwide SARS-CoV-2, or better known as COVID-19, pandemic. I was at the Port of Alexandria, Virginia, US – or better known as Old Town Alexandria. Got a room at the Hotel Indigo – first time at that hotel – which sits just a block off of the Potomac River.

Went up and down King Street as usual, but had dinner at a new spot – Gadsby’s Tavern – where George Washington and Ben Franklin used to hang out. Here are my pictures from the weekend adventure, click on the picture or link below:

Key West Food and Wine Fest 2020

[January, 19-26, 2020 Key West, FL, US]

So this is the 11th Annual Key West Food and Wine Fest (2020) and my 11th time here 🙂 Here are the pictures from the fest. Not as many as usual, but there are a few interesting shots. Went to the “Beer and Grilled Cheese” event on Thursday, the aquarium for the Grand Tasting on Friday and even thou the weather was rather horrific (wind and rain), went to the Duval Street Wine Crawl.

New Year’s Eve 2019 Washington DC River Cruise

[December 31, 2019 Alexandria, VA, US]

Déjà vu? Not quite. Yes, it’s on the same ship, the Cherry Blossom paddle-wheel, yes, from the Port of Alexandria, VA (no, not Egypt, bummer). But this year, it’s not rainy and it’s not foggy, so the skies are clear and the fireworks ought to great!

We do have a different food/drink catere4 than last year (well, I think they are different) so I noticed the food selection was not as robust. But the drink, they were fine 🙂

To recap: The paddle boat, the Cherry Blossom, is open to a public cruise only twice a year – New Year’s Eve and July 4th. So, if I am in DC on the 4th, this boat may be the best place to be to avoid the crowds!

Endless Night 2019 at New Orleans House of Blues

[25-27 October, 2019, New Orleans, LA, US]

The Vampire Ball at the House of Blues thrown by the Endless Night krewe has come to another end in New Orleans. This is my fourth Endless Night in New Orleans (one in New York). I usually go for the Friday and Saturday night events and fly back on Sunday; however, I decided to do the Sunday night dinner and the gathering. Sunday was more conducive to talking with people as the music wasn’t blaring at maximum 🙂 Plus the food was great at the House of Blues New Orleans. I forgot to take pictures of the food – sorry about that…

GLOW at the Triangle L Ranch 12-OCT-2019 in Oracle, AZ

[14 October, 2019, Oracle, AZ, US]

Visited my dad, uncles, aunts and more in Oracle, AZ from the 10th to the 14th of October in Oracle. Went to GLOW, which is held by the Triangle L Ranch.com every year in the fall.

The event features artwork of all kinds dotted along multiple paths in the desert all within the Triangle L Ranch. There are several spots that have musicians playing esoteric music. There is also food and non-alcoholic drinks for sale at the event. It used to be one night a year but it got so crowded, it was split into four event days (with different themes) with limited tickets, so that you don’t get stuck in a huge swaths of people, making it more enjoyable to stroll from point to point.
